Toyin Saraki

In a few words

A philanthropist and tireless long-term advocate for the health and empowerment of women and children, Ms. Toyin Saraki is the founder and president of The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA). Through WBFA and working with a wide range of partners such as the UN, Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Health and the organized private sector, Ms Saraki has demonstrated leadership for over two decades in advancing women's and children's health through community health workers and midwives.

Toyin Saraki is Global Goodwill Ambassador Emeritus of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM); a member of the International Steering Committee of the International Conference on Population and Development; and a Special Advisor to the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) of the World Health Organization's Regional Office for Africa (AFRO). She is also a Save the Children's Newborn Health Champion for Nigeria; and a global champion of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.

Ms Saraki holds a LLB from the London School of Oriental and African Studies and an LLM in International Economic Law from King's College London. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1989.
