In June 2024, we organized a two (2) day workshop to work on action plans for the operationalization of 2NIBA funds. For this workshop, we brought together teams from the Ministries of Health of Burkina, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali and Senegal, the UNFPA representative, the FP2030 representative, the Expand FP representative and the INSPiRE teams.
From January 23 to 24, 2024, we took part in the annual meeting organized by the INSPiRE teams. The aim of this meeting was to enable OP countries to build their budgets and plan activities in favor of maternal and child health for the year 2024.
Baobab Institute took part in the partnership's annual meeting in Ougadougou, Côte d'Ivoire, from December 11 to 13, 2023. On this occasion, we were able to present 2NIBA to announce the launch of the program and to bring together new local partners.
The Selection Committee of the Academy of Public Health, the flagship body of the West African Institute of Public Health, has awarded the Distinguished Fellowship of the Academy of Public Health (DFASP) to Pape Gaye, founder of the Baobab Institute for Health and Development, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to public health.
During this year's World Health Summit, Institut Baobab took part in a panel entitled “Bridging the digital divide: securing greater and better coordinated funding for the digital transformation of healthcare systems”.
Institut Baobab founder and president, Pape Gaye, supported the establishment of SEMA, a new initiative to help participating countries adopt a market-based approach to reproductive health supplies.
At the invitation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Baobab Institute took part in this year's annual “Grand Challenges” meeting, described on its website as “a family of initiatives fostering innovation to solve the world's major health and development problems”.
