At the invitation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Baobab Institute took part in this year's annual “Grand Challenges” meeting, described on its website as “a family of initiatives fostering innovation to solve the world's major health and development problems”. We were asked to participate in the “Implementing Innovations for Women's and Girls' Nutrition” stream, and to present on the 2NIBA initiative, an innovative new financing mechanism being developed to support the scaling-up of the “INSPIRE” approach. In the INSPIRE model, post-partum family planning (PPFP); maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH); and nutrition services are provided as integral parts of the service package. Visit the IntraHealth website to find out more about the model.
